I love a good planner! Over the years, I’ve tried various types, from bought ones to downloaded digital versions and DIY projects. I’m excited to share my planner for 2024-2025 this year. The Importance of a Planner
Planners are crucial for managing the chaos of daily life. Last year, I used the School Nest Homeschool Lesson Planning Planner. While I loved it, I found that some features didn’t suit my needs. This year, I decided to create my own planner using Canva Pro. If there’s interest, I might share the template later. Planner Essentials
First, let’s look at my planner tools:
- Erasable Pens by Pilot: I’m obsessed with these friction-based pens. They come in markers, highlighters, and pens. Heat causes the ink to erase, which is perfect for planners.
- Metal Tabs and Clear Post-it Notes: These help with organization and allow me to see the underlying text.
- Disc-bound Planner System: This allows for flexibility, adding or removing pages as needed. I found a great deal on rings and a hole punch at Jo-Ann’s.
- Laminator: For creating durable covers. My kids helped design the front and back covers, adding a personal touch.
Planner Layout
Here’s how I’ve set up my planner:
- Welcome Page: A personalized introduction with motivational quotes.
- Yearly Calendar: Full calendars for 2024, 2025, and 2026 for long-term planning.
- Year at a Glance: A quick overview of important dates and events.
- Monthly Spread: Undated pages to start the week on Monday and end on Sunday, with a to-do list section.
- Habit Wheels: Track good habits and set monthly goals.
- Weekly Layout: Includes space for hours, inspiration, habit trackers, big priorities, or meal planning.
- Notes and Books Read: Space for jotting down notes and tracking the books I’ve read.
Creating the Planner
I printed double-sided pages on heavier-weight paper to prevent bleed-through and ensure durability. Each section is thoughtfully designed to maximize productivity and organization.
Why I Love This Planner
Creating a custom planner allows me to tailor it to my specific needs. The erasable pens are a game-changer, making it easy to update plans without mess. The disc-bound system provides flexibility, and the laminated covers protect the planner from wear and tear.
