Why We Keep Coming Back to Evan Moor
If you’ve been here for a while, you already know I’m a huge fan of Evan Moor. We’ve used so many of their resources over the years—from Maps, to their one-a-day style workbooks, to the entire Skill Sharpeners series. This is actually my second time using the Grade 4 geography book. My oldest worked through the entire Skill Sharpeners Geography series years ago, and I genuinely grieved when we wrapped up Grade 6 because I loved these books so much. Now I’m going through them again with my youngest—and I’m still just as impressed.

One of my favorite examples is the unit that uses baseball players from around the world to practice mapping skills. It’s fun, relatable, and still academic.

Because I’m juggling a seventh grader doing more advanced, time-consuming work and a younger learner who still needs daily structure, I need resources that:

Final Thoughts After Using the Whole Series (Twice!)
I am very close to having my second child complete every single Skill Sharpeners Geography level from Grade 1 through Grade 6. I would absolutely use them again, and I honestly wish they continued beyond sixth grade. These books are valuable, affordable, and such an easy fit into a busy homeschool.
