MSC Seashore Review Our Honest Adults Only Cruise Experience

It has been forever since I put an original post up on this channel, but hey. Hi. How are ya? Welcome back to Suitcase Princess. My name is Shanna, and if you are new here, we are a family of four who love to travel. I felt so compelled to come here and share a brand new original post with you, because my husband and I recently took an adults-only trip out of Port Canaveral on MSC Seashore.

I did not know a lot about MSC before we took this trip, and once I started doing research, I knew I wanted to come back and share some things with you.

Our Cruising Background

We have cruised Carnival, Disney, and Royal Caribbean. This was our very first experience with MSC, and honestly, the entire reason they popped up on our radar is that we are located in Houston — and very soon, MSC is going to start sailing out of their brand-new terminal in Galveston.

MSC Cruise Line is privately owned. They’re part of a major global shipping conglomerate, with itineraries all over the world, especially in Europe. Their cruises are incredibly inexpensive comparatively, which is why we ultimately chose the MSC Seashore for our 15th wedding anniversary getaway.

This was a simple, short, adults-only escape. Just a few days alone. Exactly what we needed.

What We Paid for Our MSC Seashore Cruise

Here is the exact amount we spent and what it covered:

We used Southwest points to fly to Orlando, stayed at an airport-area hotel, then used a shuttle service to Port Canaveral. It’s about 45–50 minutes from Orlando to the coast. We sailed to Nassau and then to Ocean Cay, MSC’s private island conservation reserve.

Booking the Cruise

I searched the MSC site as anyone would, but we ended up booking through a travel agent at Vacations To Go because they got us the best deal — including the drink package and Wi-Fi.

We normally don’t do a drink package because we’re usually travelling with kids, but being kid-free… we went for it.

During online check-in, MSC gave us a 3 PM embarkation time. Extensive research told me you can pretty much go anytime earlier — and that was absolutely true. We took the earliest shuttle, arrived around 11, and were on the ship by 11:30 AM. Smooth. Fast. Easy.

Legit would totally do it again.

MSC Seashore Balcony Stateroom Review

We had a balcony room and really enjoyed it. Some quick notes:

What We Loved

Layout: sitting area first, bed by the balcony
Plenty of plugs and USBs
Built-in hairdryer
Mini bar (we didn’t use it, just peeked)
Great storage
Safe in the room
Connecting room, but we never heard a sound
Took our white noise machine — perfection

What We Didn’t Love

The shower.
It was tiny. Like, bump-the-door-open tiny.
Turn-off-the-water-to-soap tiny.

Other than that? Great room for two adults. Worth the balcony upgrade for a Caribbean sailing.

Dining on MSC Seashore

MSC does dining differently, and some of it we loved… and some, not so much.

Buffet

The buffet is very odd. Fragmented. Hard to understand the flow.
Hand-wash stations everywhere (loved that), but not always close to the seating, which made things weird.

Some food stations felt random. Some items were only on one side or the other. The kids’ counter situation was… interesting. But whatever. I ate the chicken tenders and got scolded by an employee.

Main Dining Room

Breakfast cutoff was sharp.
They tried to seat us with strangers, but we always waited for our own table.
I ordered a drink once that never showed up.
BUT the food was surprisingly good.
Portion sizes were perfect. Never felt overly full.

Pizza

MSC is known for pizza, but there are two kinds.
Find the thin-crust “right” kind — it’s amazing.

Drink Package

The espresso martinis were fantastic.

The drink package includes:

15 alcoholic drinks per day
Unlimited waters, sodas, coffees

Between the two of us, even with steady sipping, we never felt drunk. Drinks weren’t strong, but honestly? Perfect for an adults-only getaway.

Onboard Experience and Ship Vibe

MSC decor is… gaudy.
But in a fun way.

The Seashore is a smaller class ship, so it doesn’t loop together the way Royal or Carnival ships do. It’s segmented, just like the buffet.

Things We Loved

Whirlpools on both sides of the ship — AMAZING.
Tons of activities (though we didn’t do many because… adults-only relaxing).
Shows are not MSC’s strong suit, but we already knew that.
Casino is huge.
Live music everywhere.
Bars everywhere.

It’s a very “classic cruise vibe” ship — not necessarily family-branded, but still fun.

Ocean Cay: MSC’s Private Island

We loved Ocean Cay. It’s a reef conservation island MSC is rebuilding, and it’s gorgeous.

We did:

Snorkelling with our own gear
Walked the island
Relaxed
Enjoyed quiet time

I saw a stingray and tons of fish. Loved that.

Food on the island was fine.
Lines were long.
Burgers were pre-built, which I didn’t love.
Seagulls are savage.
But the drink package worked everywhere, and that was great.

Shuttles make getting around easy.
Lifeguards everywhere.

Would We Sail MSC Again

For value?
MSC is AMAZING.

For pizza and coffee?
Also amazing.

For a short adults-only trip?
Absolutely fantastic.

For families?
Honestly… yes.
I’d totally take the kids.

Kid-Friendly Stuff We Noticed

Multiple water slides
Ropes course
Splash pad
Indoor “jungle” pool
Outdoor pools
LEGO partnership (we brought home an MSC LEGO build!)

My kids would find plenty to eat and plenty to do.

The value is nearly unbeatable. If the price and timing are right, do it.

Final Thoughts

MSC surprised us — in a good way.

We had a great time.
We would do it again.
And for what we spent, it was absolutely worth it.
