STEAM for Girls Fischertechnik Advanced Universal 4 Review
As the mother of 2 girls, I know that placing a heavy emphasis on STEAM activities is crucial. In our house, we have tons of building sets, small machines, models, and enjoy working on these projects together. There are many studies citing the lack of confidence that girls feel themselves and even a lack of confidence in them from their educators. I was so excited to get the opportunity to bring this kit into our home and let my girls get their hands on it. Timberdoodle made that possible for us. This building set is included in their 2nd-grade curriculum kit, linked below.
2nd Grade Curriculum Kit from Timberdoodle
We did not love this kit. We do have quite a bit of experience with building kits but could not easily get into this set. Both my husband and daughter had a hard time getting started and my husband says there is no way an average 2nd grader can open and go with this. He recommended you pick it up only if you are skilled with IKEA directions. This was not a good fit for my home but please, judge it for yourself.
