which is dedicated to all things family travel.
However, this information can come in handy so frequently as a parent, I feel like the golden nuggets are worth sharing here as well. You never know when you will need to fit a giant dress into a much smaller space! This will be more of a condensed version. For all of the nitty-gritty associated with the whys and the hows, check out our other channel here:
Disclaimer: I will say “dresses” but I mean any dress-up outfit including those of Jedis and dragons
I will include a little bonus on princess dresses, read through to the end for that extra magic.
As you can see, we love to dress up. For pretty much any occasion, including days that end in “Y.” Especially handy when opening the Disney Store.

Packing Princess Dresses:
Let’s begin by gathering your supplies:
*dresses (not just dresses but all dress up outfits)
*baggies
*extra hands or rubber bands
*sharpie (if you need to label the bags)
*suitcase or drawer (whatever you are putting the dresses into for travel or storage)
This method is quite simple but can seem daunting because of the size of the dresses.
How to Fold & Roll Princess Dresses:
Step 1: Lay dress out flat
Step 2: Find the center point
Flip dress inside itself at midpoint
Step 3: Fold in thirds toward center
Step 4: Roll from folded edge to hem
Tucking in sides as you fold
Step 5: Bind with rubber band
Finally: Tuck into bag
Add accessories if needed
Label if needed
Compress and zip
Put in suitcase or drawer
Best Shoes for Princess Dresses:
Take into account special shoes can be oh so cute and oh so painful! Think it through beforehand.
I personally love that my kiddos love to dress up. I will be sad when one day very soon princess dresses are replaced by plain everyday outfits. For now, this is an extra magical moment in my house that I am in full support of. Often, I am called to use my professional skills to match the hairstyle of the chosen princess of the day. I am all too happy to oblige.

Bonus Tip!
How to buckle a car seat when wearing a Princess Dress:
Step 1: Take 1 well-dressed kiddo and 1 appropriately sized car seat
Step 2: Add kid to car seat
Step 3: Roll skirt and part it in the middle
Step 4: Buckle Leg Strap
Step 5: Buckle other straps
Voila!
Be sure to not dress your child in anything that requires you to loosen the straps. Excess material can compress during an accident.
