About The Vocal Gym

I’m proud to be a part of the Timberdoodle team, and they’ve given me the opportunity to explore the Vocal Gym. While it’s not a fit for everyone, I believe it’s important to share this resource. Even if it’s not homeschool-specific, it’s an excellent asset for homeschoolers.

Our Transition to Musical Theater

We’ve recently transitioned from a world of dance to musical theater. However, we’re starting from scratch when it comes to vocal skills and acting. We needed a foundation to understand where we stand and what we need to learn, which is where the Vocal Gym comes in.

What is the Vocal Gym?

The Vocal Gym is a comprehensive online course, adaptable for all skill levels. It doesn’t require prior knowledge of music theory, making it perfect for beginners. It covers a wide range of topics, from anatomy to music literacy. It provides a strong foundation for vocal development.

Course Highlights:
– Anatomy of the voice
– Music literacy
– Breathing techniques
– Singing tips and tricks
– Music theory
– and more

Fine Arts Credits

The Vocal Gym offers 150+ Carnegie credit hours per year, making it a valuable addition to your child’s educational journey. It’s designed for students aged 12 and up, but my 11-year-old has benefitted tremendously from it.

Conclusion

While the Vocal Gym may not be for everyone, it has been a game-changer for us. It has helped my daughter prepare for her musical theater journey, and I’m excited about the progress she’s made in just 30 hours. If you have a child interested in singing or expanding their vocal abilities, give the Vocal Gym a look. It might be the missing piece of the puzzle, just as it was for us.
