7th Grade Schedule 2024 2025: How We Plan Our Homeschool Week
Welcome back to Making Everyday Magic! My name is Shanna, and if you are new here, we are a homeschooling family of four. We are entering our eighth year of homeschooling for the 2024-2025 school year, and I want to share with you our seventh grader’s schedule for this upcoming homeschool year.

Supplies We Need
To get started, here’s a list of supplies we need:
- Plan for the Year: This outlines our yearly goals and curriculum breakdown.
- Handy Dandy Sheets: These have our subjects listed with the number of lessons, chapters, or pages.
- Clear Clipboard: A printed schedule is packing taped to the back. We use dry erase markers to check off completed tasks. These clipboards hang in our school cabinet for easy access.

How I Balance Two Learners
Balancing the needs of both a seventh grader and a younger sibling requires a thoughtful approach. For my seventh grader, I tend to start with independent lessons on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, allowing her to work on her own while I assist her younger sibling. This method helps in managing time and ensuring both children get the attention they need.
Filling the Flow
Let’s break down the schedule for our seventh grader. This plan is flexible and can be adjusted as needed. Here’s how we’re organizing the week:
Mom and Me Mondays
- Thinking
- World History Detective
- Math
- Writing
- Tech Essentials
- Intro to Filmmaking
Tuesday to Thursday
- Independent Lessons: These include writing, vocabulary, and other subjects she can handle on her own.
- Dependent Lessons: Subjects like math and history, where she needs my guidance, are planned for these days to ensure she gets the help she needs.
Project-Based Learning
Any project work will carry through the week, allowing for a deeper dive into subjects that interest her.
Making the Flow
Here’s how we set up the weekly flow:
- Start with Independent Lessons: Writing and vocabulary are done daily.
- Dependent Lessons: Math and MCT Language Arts are done daily with my assistance.
- Special Subjects: Tech Essentials and Intro to Filmmaking are primarily focused on Mondays but can be carried into other days as needed.
This schedule is intense, but it’s designed to be manageable. We school four days a week, and this structure allows us to stay focused and organized.
Finalizing the Schedule
The clear clipboard system is a lifesaver. Each day’s schedule is printed and taped to the back of a clear clipboard, allowing for easy check-offs with dry erase markers. This system not only keeps us on track but also helps in visualizing the week’s progress.
